NECKLACE & EARRINGS: This
magnificent set is Circa. 1920's and the design carries the look of royalty.
Hand made of 14kt White Gold, the necklace is lavishly hung with Diamonds
and wonderfully lustrous Pearls. The matching earrings form an exquisite
compliment to the marvelous necklace. There are 13 very fine pearls and
approx. 10 1/2 cttws of diamonds in the set. The pearls range in size

| NECKLACE/PENDANT: This is a unique,
and very fine antique diamond pendant. The 14k white gold setting with
diamond encrusted bale suspends what appears to be an exquisite, genuine
old European Asscher* cut diamond. VS2, H. Estimated at approx. 2 carats.
$12,000. Item#5cjds0202-1 SOLD *What Is An Asscher Cut Diamond? In the history of diamonds and diamond cutting the Asscher cut diamond is considered one of the greatest cuts of diamonds ever conceived. Invented in the early 20th century by the Asscher Brothers of Holland, (original Asscher Diamond cut was developed in 1902 by Joseph Asscher), an Asscher cut is a modification on the most popular cut of previous century...the cushion cut. The Asscher Brothers, celebrities in their own right (they cut many of the "named" diamonds for royalty), invented a cut which was square to rectangular with a flat table (top surface), many small step cuts along the top area and larger longer facets underneath the diamond. Like the cushion cut, the Asscher cut has an open culet (the bottom of a diamond) and a facet plan to draw the eye into the diamond and give the diamond depth. In fact the beauty of an Asscher cut is how the eye "dives into the center of the diamond"...the eye relishes the "pool" of the diamond. In fact water and diamonds went hand in hand. Until recently diamonds were "graded" in terms of water..."river white" being the "D Flawless" of its time. The beauty of an Asscher cut runs counter to todays modern diamonds in which the facets and cut of a modern diamond repel the eye (in the name of "brilliance"). The myriad of facets in todays diamonds deprive the diamond of its true depth. Original Asscher cut diamonds are quite rare and are found mostly on the estate market. |

NECKLACE: Long, regal, 46" strand of pearls with a deep purple cabachon amethyst clasp. The pearls range from 7 3/4 mm to 9mm in size. Clasp is 14k yellow gold, with 60 ct. amethyst, and 1/3 ct diamonds. Necklace is approximately 50 years old. | Drop dead gorgeous, hand selected genuine South Sea Pearls, each glowing with a rich and lustrous nacre. There are a total of 31 pearls graduated in size, ranging from 12mm to 15mm. This strand of pearls was custom ordered for a client who specified a color of soft white with faintest of pale pink overtones. At the last minute, he decided on a different strand.
